A talk by Steve Usher, P.Geo., Groundwater Scientist
Steve will be speaking of some interesting geologic facts on Gabriola Island, his observations on our groundwater, and a smattering of historical antecdotes since he first came here in 1966 as a 9 year old.
Did you know that Gabriola inspired the Beachcombers? Did you know there is a lot of groundwater on the island which is constantly discharging to the sea, and being replenished? Did you know that an outcrop of one of the most famous geologic horizons around the world is present along the narrows?
We are not so sure that Steve knows either, but that does not stop him from talking about it, come and be entertained.
