The truth of this terrible history is laid bare in the recent discovery of the remains of 215 children on the grounds of one of Canada’s largest residential schools, in the Nation of Tk’emlups te Secwepemic (Kamloops, BC).

With anger, sadness and grief we mourn with Indigenous families, communities, and Nations, the lives of these 215 children as well as all those Indigenous children who died as a result of residential schools.

The National flag at the Gabriola Museum will be flown at half mast until June 30th, 2021.
