National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
Saturday, September 30, 2023
12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Gabriola Museum invites you to join us in honouring this year’s National Day for Truth & Reconciliation at the Museum on September 30.
The events start at noon with the launch of Elder Geraldine Manson’s new book, “Snuneymuxw Mulstimuxw: Sacred Place Names, their Travels, and Stories”. There will also be a video showcasing and embracing the legacy of Snuneymuxw First Nation history and ancestors.
Booths featuring traditional weaving, fry bread, drummers, and face painting will also be open, noon to 2pm.
Ay Lelum will be at the Museum with their stunning clothing featuring their family artwork.
Find out more about Ay Lelum here.
Bring your family and friends for an afternoon of learning about and celebrating Snuneymuxw culture and history.
